Canyon Eisberg brothers Harry Tanfield and Charlie Tanfield have been selected for the 2018 Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast in Australia.
The Yorkshire talents were named in a 27-strong Team England cycling squad for the championships, which take place from April 4-15.
Charlie will ride on the track, where he clinched his first world title last week with the Great Britain team pursuit squad.
Meanwhile, Harry is part of the road team, which also includes Tom Stewart, Chris Latham, Ian Bibby and 2016 national champion Adam Blythe.
The brothers will also compete alongside one another in the time trial, with Dan Bigham and Bibby the other riders in this discipline. Team leader Keith Reynolds said:
“There is a lot of experience within the squad, with 14 riders having an Olympic, Paralympic or world championship medal to their name.
“Equally, there are riders for whom this event will play an important role as part of their development.
“It is great we can offer this to younger riders on the World Class Performance Programme as well as to non-programme riders.
“We’re happy with the team we have selected. There are some exciting prospects across the board and I’m looking forward to seeing how the team gets on.”
Team England chef de mission Sarah Winckless echoed Reynolds’ words and is confident the squad can continue the nationa’s rich tradition in cycling at the Games. She added:
“This is a really busy time of year for our cycling teams, so I’m delighted we are taking such a strong team to the Commonwealth Games.
“England has a long history in cycling at the Commonwealth Games having won more than 100 medals.
“I’m hopeful this team will be able to add to that tally for team and country in just a few weeks’ time.”
A 37.8km time trial lies in wait for Harry and Charlie on Tuesday, April 10, while the road race takes place on Saturday, April 14.
The latter will cover a distance of 168.3km, comprising of nine laps of a relatively flat 18.7km course which starts and finishes at Currumbin Beach.
