Max Stedman will represent Great Britain under-23s in the five-day Tour of Alsace in France.
The Canyon Eisberg climber is part of a six-man squad for the UCI 2.2 stage race, which begins on Wednesday.
Stedman, 22, will team up with Fred Wright, Joe Nally, Matt Bostock, Jake Stewart and Adam Hartley for the contest, which begins with a 4.7km prologue.
Each team will be divided in half for the opening test, which comprises two laps of a pan-flat circuit in Sausheim.
Stage two is 147.5km in length and will see the peloton leave Champ de Feu for Selestat, where they will complete four laps of a 21.2km finishing circuit.
Stedman will be relishing the opportunity to test his legs on Friday’s summit finish on La Planche des Belle Filles (5.8km to 8.5%).
Chris Froome famously won on top of the Vosges mountain in the 2012 Tour de France – as his Sky team-mate rode into the yellow jersey.
Starting out in Vesoul, the peloton will cover 143.1km before the winner crosses the line at more than 3,500ft.
Stage four will see the riders cover 165km from Ribeauvillé to the Lac Blanc ski resort.
In probably the toughest test of the week, they will climb the Col des Bagenelles (5.7 km at 6%), Col du Calvaire (2.7 km at 6.5%), Col de Petit Ballon (9.0 km at 6.1%) and Col du Bouton d’Or (2.9 km at 7.8%).
The Queen stage, which kicks off by crossing the Haut de Ribeauvillé passes (6.8 km at 5.5%) after just 16km, will climax with another summit finish – back on the Calvaire via Lac Blanc (10.0 km to 6.9%).
Sunday’s finale covers 146.9km from Riedisheim to Dannemarie. Three categorised climbs feature on the route – the most challenging being the Cote de Ferrette (900 m to 6.5%).
The Tour Alsace is now in its 15th year. Former winners include Thibaut Pinot and Wilco Kelderman, while Warren Barguil has made the podium and Britain’s Scott Davies finished second to Maximilian Schachmann, of Quick-Step Floors, in 2016.
Lotto Soudal, Sunweb and Dimension Data all have squad in the race this year, while Tom Pidcock leads at Team Wiggins entry.
